2013 Trauma Conference Abstract Competition

The King’s College London Surgical & Emergency Medicine Societies are proud to announce our 2013 Trauma Conference Abstract Competition. We will be accepting abstract submissions from Monday 17th of December 2012 for a poster presentation at the King’s College London National Undergraduate Trauma Conference on the 23rd & 24th February 2013. All abstracts should relate to an aspect of trauma medicine or surgery. Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words (excluding title, authors and references).
The abstract should be organised as follows:
  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
All submissions must be in the form of a Microsoft Word document and include a word count. Send in a copy of your abstract with your name, medical school and year of study. The deadline for submission of abstracts is Monday 21st of January 2013. Abstracts received after this date will not be considered.
The authors of 10 shortlisted abstracts will be invited to prepare a poster presentation of A0 size. Authors of accepted posters will be notified by email by the Friday 25th of January 2013. In order to be accepted for the poster presentation, at least one named author must be registered to attend the conference. The posters will be displayed throughout the 2-day conference. Finalists will present their poster to a panel of trauma consultants  at the conference on the Saturday 23rd of February 2013.
The work submitted should be your own original work, which you have not submitted for publication or have already published.
THE WINNING ABSTRACTS WILL BE PUBLISHED IN THE JOURNAL TRAUMA (http://tra.sagepub.com), with a chance to have a full article published as well.
