Anatomy BSc Presentations

Interested in anatomy? Not sure which BSc to study? Undertaking an intercalated BSc in anatomy makes logical sense regardless of which area of medicine you choose to specialise in, but it is particularly relevant to surgery.

In association with the Anatomical Society, KCL Surgical Society is pleased to present three evenings of Anatomy BSc presentations, each led by the top three student groups of the Advanced Human Anatomy course.

Kicking off this Friday 13th, the students will present their projects with Dr. Hunter on hand to answer any questions you may have about the Anatomy BSc. After a short break, the evenings will move onto the dissection room where students will present their dissection projects.  These evenings will no doubt be an enjoyable experience and provide a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting an insight into the Anatomy BSc.

Details are as follows:
Friday 13th Feb: Coeliac Trunk and Superior Mesenteric Artery
Friday 20th Feb: The Vagus Nerve
Friday 27th Feb: Muscles of Facial Expression

Harris Lecture Theatre, Hodgkin Building: 5pm – 6pm
Dissection Room: 6pm – 7pm
(Same times and locations for all three evenings)

This event is free for all to attend and refreshments will be provided.

For free access to our future events, don’t forget that membership is just £5 for the year

Old Operating Theatre Tour led by Professor Ellis

This event is now full.

We are proud to announce our first
event of 2009!

The Old Operating Theatre is the site of the oldest Operating Theatre in the UK! At first glance its placement in an English Baroque Church seems bizarre, but it makes more sense when you consider that the wards of the South Wing of St. Thomas’ Hospital were built around St.Thomas’ Church.

We have rented out the venue and invited Professor Harold Ellis to provide a special tour. Come join us in experiencing the origins of surgery, the instruments used, and see where it all began. Also, have a chance to meet and network with our committee and other members.

To attend, book your place using the “register to attend” box above (click expand). There are LIMITED SPACES so book a place quickly! Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
